The following are ways to become involved with The Kayseean along with a short description and list of responsibilities. All positions are eligible for work study compensation and is not location dependent (except for meetings once a week). No prior experience is required (except for the web manager position) and each position is open to all majors!
Reporter
The person in this position is responsible for reporting and photographing campus news including on campus events, administrative policies and decisions, national and local news, and other interests. This position reports to the Editor and faculty co-advisors of The Kayseean for writing assignments and feedback. This position is eligible for work study.
Responsibilities include:
- Writes 2-3 articles per publication cycle for inclusion in the print and online editions of The Kayseean.
- Regularly attends campus events, taking photographs and interviewing attendees at the events.
- Provides feedback on peers’ articles as part of the editing process.
- Attends and participates in meetings of The Kayseean staff.

Web Manager
The person in this position is responsible for maintaining The Kayseean website and works directly with the editor and faculty co-advisors. This position is eligible for work study.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintains The Kayseean wordpress website
- Suggests and executes updates to keep the website current and functioning
- Provides feedback on peers’ articles as part of the editing process.
- Attends and participates in meetings of The Kayseean staff.
- Writes articles as needed per publication cycle for inclusion in the print and online editions of The Kayseean.

Social Media Manager
The person in this position is responsible for curating, posting, and monitoring the social media accounts for The Kayseean. This position reports to the Editor and faculty co-advisors of The Kayseean. This positon is eligable for work study.
Responsibilities include:
- Creates / implements / maintain a consistent social media strategy for The Kayseean with input from and approval from the faculty co-advisors and editor
- Monitors The Kayseean’s social media accounts and is responsible for interacting with users’ questions or comments and sharing qualified content
- Provides feedback on peers’ articles as part of the editing process.
- Attends and participates in meetings of The Kayseean staff.
- Writes articles as needed per publication cycle for inclusion in the print and online editions of The Kayseean.
