With the 2020-21 school year coming to a close the Student Government Association (SGA) is dusting off the ballot boxes, ready to start the next campaign season. The current administration, led by SGA president Harrison Barger, is accepting applications for the next President and Vice President.
To apply, students will need to choose a running mate, organize a letter of recommendation from a faculty member, staff member, and a fellow student as well as a flyer for their campaign and turn them into the SGA by Friday, March 26th. The only students running currently are Kendall Morrison and Hannah Harosky, but there’s still room on the ballot!
Polling will last from March 29th to April 5th, 2021, after which the new student government will be announced. After the election, the new administration will select their own cabinet including the treasurer and secretary.
The student government works to address the concerns of the student body to the administration through university committees and meetings with the President. Overall, they play a huge role in the representation of students, so make sure your voice is heard and vote in SGA elections this semester!
