If you enjoy romantic comedies and are looking for a new read check out King alum and faculty Melissa Ferguson’s new book, The Dating Charade.
Ferguson is a Bristol resident, King University alum and current assistant professor in the Bible and Religion department. She is the mother of four-year old twins and a two-year old daughter. When asked about her inspirations for the book she explained that this book is a twist on the popular show The Brady Bunch. She also detailed when she finds time to write, “With children it’s difficult, most authors have a full-time job and write on the side in the small moments of the day. I usually write during the kids’ nap times and I often write at midnight.” She also mentioned how she deals with deadlines by keeping a document of word counts she needs to reach each day saying, “I shoot to hit that at least or go above that each day when I sit down to write.”
The Dating Charade is a heartwarming romantic comedy that has already been featured as one of the best upcoming romance titles on Publisher’s Marketplace and The Nerd Daily. The book has been published by HarperCollins on December 3rd as part of a 3-book contract. Included with New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors Julia London, Jasmine Guillory, Christina Lauren, and Meg Cabot.
Publisher’s Weekly referred to The Dating Charade as “Ferguson’s delightful debut” and stated “Ferguson’s humorous and chaotic tale will please rom-com fans.” She is slated for a co-author book signing with Nora Roberts in February 2020.
