With the fall semester now behind us, students are eager to move onto the final part of the school year. Registration for Spring of 2021 is open until January 18th, and if you’re looking for any interesting electives to fill up on credit hours, here are a few courses to look forward to this coming semester!

Serial and Mass Murderers (CRJU 2800)

Are you captivated by true-crime documentaries? This class may be for you; according to the academic catalog, “This course explores current research and case studies of serial killers and mass murders. Topics of discussion will include profiling, behavioral case studies, typologies, the history of these phenomena, and our culture’s fascination with this behavior.” The course is part of the Criminal Justice Program and will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:20 AM to 12:20 PM.

History of American Art (FINE 2250)

Want to brush up on your art history knowledge? This class will lead you through Neoclassicism to Surrealism and everything in between. The academic catalog describes it as, “A study of American art forms as they relate to successive periods in American history and as they compare to European work from the 17th century to the 21st century.” This class is part of the Digital Media Art & Design Program and will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:10 to 2:40 PM.

International Terrorism (SAIS 2330)

“This course serves as an introduction to the constantly changing landscape of contemporary unconventional security threats, and examines the complex geopolitical identities of America’s non-state adversaries.” Gain a better understanding of the country’s position in the global community in this course. This course is part of the Security and Intelligence Studies Program and will be taught by Professor Helt. It will be held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:20 AM to 12:20 PM.

Remember, these classes aren’t offered every semester, so be sure to get registered as soon as possible for the Spring 2021 semester. For more information, consult the academic catalog, your academic advisor, or the course offering page through your portal.
