As many of you have transitioned to online classes, here are a few tips to help make this change more manageable:
1. Routine
Establish a daily routine similar to what you would have if you were on campus attending class. To help with motivation, I suggest waking up at the same time every day, getting dressed early in the day, and eating on a regular schedule. Create a daily schedule and block out time for assignments, lectures, free time, etc.
2. Location
You do not have many options available to you for completing classes and schoolwork right now. However, pick a specific place at a table or desk inside your home to attend classes, view lectures, and complete homework. Avoid doing your classes and homework on your bed. Your brain associates your bed with sleep and it is likely you will fall asleep if doing your work in bed. Conversely, your brain could begin to associate your bed with classwork which could lead to sleep problems.
3. Connect
Stay connected with your professor and classmates. You are likely to have many questions right now and your professor is available to help you. It is likely your classmates will have the same questions and worries you have. Stay connected and help each other as your classmates are in this with you!
